I recently began going camping with my girlfriends, maybe one weekend every 6 weeks or so in the summer months.

My first trip was a learning experience. Lesson- DON'T buy a cheap tent-they leak! After getting back home and drying out all my gear, I went tent shopping. I visited several local stores but couldn't decide between the various styles. Nothing looked quite right. Finally, Will and I went to Cabelas, a HUGE hunting, fishing and sporting goods store in West Virginia the following Saturday! They had quite a few tents and I finally decided on one that allowed me to stand up inside and was also large enough to sleep several people and/or hold lots of gear. Then I remembered I had seen this same tent at a pretty good price in Pittsburgh. It was on sale through that evening but when I called the Pittsburgh store from WVa. to confirm they had one left at the sale price I was told, "Sorry, we're all out".

The next day when I went shopping, I stopped at the local store where the tent had been on sale and found several available at the non-sale price. I called 'The Terminator' (Will) who called the store manager and demanded to see the freight invoice dated the previous evening showing delivery of the supposedly out-of-stock tents after we had called. Naturally, they couldn't produce any shipping documents since there wasn't any delivery the previous evening, just some tents that had been 'not in stock' at the sale price but which WERE in stock at the regular price!

I wound up getting my new tent at the sale price, a considerable savings. Will even wound up paying for it, an even better deal for me!
